OOSTHUIZEN FINISHES 14th IN FINAL FEDEX CUP STANDINGS
Marion County resident Louis Oosthuizen just wrapped up the 2020-21 Super Season on the PGA Tour with a T14 finish at the Tour Championship. Oostie’s finish at East Lake earned him $583,750, putting a bow on his nearly-$7 million season.
Oosthuizen played in 21 tournaments this season, making the cut in all but one, with eight top 10s, including six top-3 finishes. Louis placed in the top 3 four times in the Super Season’s six majors, including a 3rd place at the 2020 US Open at Winged Foot, a T2 finish at the PGA at Kiawah Island in South Carolina, a 2nd place finish at this year’s US Open at Torrey Pines, and a T3 finish at the Open Championship at Royal St. George’s.
This was Oostie’s best year in on-course earnings ($6,890,429) and his 14th place finish in the final FedEx Cup standings was the second-best in his career (7th in 2012). Oosthuizen was remarkably consistent throughout the year in a season where he led the Tour in strokes gained putting, was third in scoring average (69.714), and finished the season 4th in strokes gained overall.
