The 2019-2020 PGA Season gets underway this week in Sulphur Springs, VA and Ocala’s PGA Touring Pro Ted Potter is heading there to play in the Greenbriar Classic.

In a recent conversation, Potter reflected on the just completed 2018-2019 PGA year and offered a glimpse of what lies ahead in the 2019-2020 season.

Looking back Potter said, “Last year did not turn out the way I hoped it would. I had a few mishaps early in the year (broken driver) that set me back and I pretty much spent the greater part of the year trying to find a driver and get my swing back to where it needed to be. It started to come back together towards the end of the year and I finished up well.” Potter ended the campaign 147th on the money list earning almost $800,000.

Potter who is a previous winner of the Greenbriar Classic is optimistic about the upcoming 2019-2020 PGA Tour Year. “Right now, I’m really satisfied with my swing, especially my driver. My goals for the upcoming year are to get at least one win and make the top 30 so I can play in the end of the year Fedex Cup.” Potter added, “In order for me to get there I need to concentrate more on my putting and that’s where I’m planning to put the time in.”

Potter begins by playing a lofty schedule as he is entered to play in four of the first five tournaments. “This is the final exemption year that I get for my win at Pebble Beach so at a minimum I need to finish in the top 125 on the money list so I can secure my card for the following year.”

Ocala golfers will be keeping an eye on their favorite touring PGA Pro and watch as “The Wizard” seeks to achieve his goals.
